[GreenKeys] Fuses for model 15

Unfortunately, trying to find standard edison base plug fuses is
becoming very difficult. They are illegal in many localities for use in
a building electrical panel, so electrical supply stores often don't
keep them. I don't know of any prohibition on using them in radio
equipment. In many cases, exhisting fuse panels must be retrofitted
with permanent adapters that will not accept a fuse larger than a
certain size. Once the adapter is screwed in, it can't be removed
without great effort. A spring wire barb grips the shell of the socket.
I think you can modify these adapter by finding and grinding off the
barb so it won't ruin the originality of the Teletype machine, and get a
newer "non-tamp" (non-tamper) fuse of the correct rating from a BIG
industrial electrical supply to screw into the adapter. I have also
taken blown fuses, torn the tops off, and used them to make adapters for
standard glass AGC/3AG fuse holders. Find a chassis mount glass fuse
holder that has a spring in the cap so the terminal on the end doesn't
move. Wire it into the old plug fuse body, and fill the old fuse body
around the new fuse holder with epoxy. It lets you use modern fuses
without altering the equipment. I personally don't like using circuit
breakers as the only means to protect motors, so using a chassis mounted
circuit breaker instead of a fuse holder in the homebrew adapter is
probably not a good idea. A few thoughts from an industrial control tech.

Thank you and your friends for working to preserve the Battleship
New Jersey. Not that many years ago, duty on a battleship was
considered the best in the Navy. Battleships may be obsolete in some
ways, but they represented American pride and craftsmenship that are on
the verge of being lost.
