[GreenKeys] Teletype & Gun Model Numbers?

Hi:

I've just been looking patents for the Model 26 and notice the first one 
(1595472) was in the year 1926.  I have not yet started looking at the model 15 
or model 19.  Some small arms are named after their year of introduction such 
as the colt 1911.  Were the model 15 and 19 named after their starting year?
