Previously named Teleprinter Corporation, and then they changed the
name to MITE Corp. One Bernard Howard had the title of Vice Pres.
for Engineering of the company, and his is the only name on any of
the patents they held. Not much is known about him. There is a
brief bio in Western Union Technical Review - says he attended the
University of Idaho and the New Mexico School of Mines, then worked
in aerial navigation, communication, and wire recording for some
companies in the aerospace field. I haven't looked up his patents
outside the MITE ones. Later the company apparently got into the
sewing machine business, or merged with a sewing machine company,
as they started getting a number of patents issued to various other
people, all in the sewing machine field.

MITE is an acronym for Miniaturized Integrated Telegraph Equipment.
