Gene, another electronic selcal was published much
later and it is far better... the article is about a Character
Recognition Device (CRD) and I believe it was in 73
in the 80s.  I'll look it up and let you know.  I built two
units with a lot of custom features like 4P perf shutdown,
3N selcal shutdown (no good on MARS), precise space
or character counting for artwork, neat WRU, etc (I even 
used a character sequence to kick on the amp as needed).
It is basically just a pair of 74154s (or LS) and works fine 
with the ST-6 or almost all other TUs.
