Recently some folks here and on a couple other lists had commented on
an ebay seller's prices on some items - anything from new-in-the-box
Gibson Girl rescue transmitters to teletype gear and any number of
things in between. The seller is/was "moondancefarm" - an antique/
estate buyer who knows nothing about surplus and radio gear.

Here are some example item numbers 180023388455 is the Gibson Girl
and (you *really don't want to be in the middle of a cup of coffee
with this one) 180015444238 is a 75 Mhz marker rx that usually goes
for about $5... go, look at the price....

Just wondered if any of you had emailed them and gotten a reply? I
had fussed at them about several items and pointed them to a link
with sane prices. As an example, in one email I had mentioned was a
"Gibson Girl" rescue set, wwii vintage, the whole thing, baloon,
hydrogen generator cannister, etc all new in the box. They were
selling it all piecemeal at several hundred dollars a shot. Myself,
and hopefully others, sent them emails letting them know that all the
pieces belong together, now they have the whole shebang at a buy it
now price of $795.00. Not sure how popular Gibson Girls are with
collectors these days (the radio, that is...)

As for the assorted replies I received from the seller, they admitted
they knew nothing about the items and were simply selling them as a
favor for the friend. Did anyone else write these folks and get any
sort of reply, or did we just mention them here on the list?
