For those of you who are adventurous...
The Tempest Dovetrons have the standard power transformer used in all Dovetrons. This transformer has
a secondary winding that supplies high voltage for a loop, but it's not used. The main circuit board
also has the empty spaces for the diode bridge (four 1N4007's) and the filter capacitor.
With some simple schematic/PC trace tracking, and a handful of parts, you can build in a loop supply.
That supply can then be used for the "simple keyer" circuit. As Tony has pointed out, the
simple keyer circuit only allows you to receive with the HV loop. If you also want to
transmit, using the internal AFSK, I'd suggest using Gil's TTYCONNECT circuit.
