[GreenKeys] R-390A for RTTY

    Jack;

    Back in the day, you'd have TWO R-390's driving a CV-116 in diversity 
(the CV-116 picks the stronger of the two signals) in your AN/GRC-26D 
shelter on the back of a deuce-and-a-half truck.  I would definitely not 
recommend that approach.  The CV-116 had about a hundred tubes, needed 
constant maintenance, and wouldn't print anything but the strongest signals.

    I'd just take the audio out of the line out connection on the receiver 
and feed it into your choice of TU.  That gives you a separate level control 
and meter for the output, which is separate from your speaker level.  You do 
need a 600 ohm speaker or transformer.

    I still have an adapter for the weird antenna connector if you need one.

    I have to say I don't think much of the R-390 now in comparison with 
modern receivers, but they still have their admirers.
