I have a complete GRC-142 ishelter with all the equipment as issued
(GRC-106A/MD-522 and the rest of the ancillary stuff - power supplies,
field phones, remote control, Kleinschmidt teleprinter and
reperf/keyboard- except for the crypto equipment.
I haven't used the RTTY yet (the Kleinschmidts need cleaning/lube and I
didn't want to turn them on with the dust and grime in them). I use the
radio quite often on SSB and CW.
I use only the headset with it (it's noise proof) because the blower noise
in the small space drowns out the speaker. Part of the installation is an
external exhaust blower which attaches to the amplifier exhaust port and
exhausts the hot air via an air duct.
The external exhaust arrangement is advisable to use anyway, as the
internal blower capacity is not optimal for good cooling on RTTY.
