When I joined Ma Bell's TTY group in 1970, all of the Model
15's (and 14 reperfs and TD's) on the company's
service order network were geared for 75 wpm.
All of the 15's had sprocket-feed 6-inch wide platens for the service
order forms. They also had a rudimentary "form alignment" that used a
switch to indicate it was proerly lined up with the top of the form (the
machine did not automatically feed up to the next form like a 28 could).
We eventually replaced a lot of the ailing/aging 15's with 28's, also
geared for 75 wpm. I don't recall ever copying a 75 wpm RTTY
signal.
