To which I would add to look for any joints that might have been made in
wall socket boxes, etc., along the way to your shack. My Dad had a similar
problem with his station when we set up in his last house. Found out that
the wiring used aluminum conductors and that some junctions had worked
loose in a wall outlet box on the other side of the radio room. Tighten
that up, and the problem across the romm went away. I seem to recall
reading once that loose connections should be suspected when lights flicker
badly as appliances go on & off, and I've been told aluminum wiring is
notorious for working connections loose. That's my 2 cents, and probably
overpriced at that. <G>
