There is a problem when you talk about DX on the 40M Amateur  Band.  In the 
US, the ARRL Band Plan calls for RTTY between 7.080 and 7.100  MHz. However, 
other parts of the world are not permitted to operate RTTY on this  part of 40M. 
Therefore, there is an additional  RTTY DX window centered at  7.040 MHz.  
During DXpeditions and RTTY contests, it is normal to see a  number of US RTTY 
stations operating both above and below 7.040  MHz.  The ITU is working to 
eliminate the discrepancies in the  alignment of the Amateur Band.
