You need a small thin 1/4 inch wrench. A good alternative is a set
of ignition wrenches that Sears used to sell. Since points are
getting to be a thing of the past, it would probably be good to get a
set before they quit making them.
Another alternative is to order a wrench on-line from McMaster-Carr
on their web-site. Make sure you oil the felt and springs in the
clutch.
If there is too much wear you might have to replace the shoes or the
whole clutch assembly.
First is the selector clutch, then the code bar clutch, then the
function clutch, then the line feed clutch, and lastly the type box
clutch. The third in would be the function clutch. Don't let it go
too long if it seizes up it will break off all the tines on the
function bars in the stunt box.
As I recall all of the clutches are adjusted to the same
specification so you can usually tell a worn one, or one that has
slipped out of adjustment, which will have a larger gap than the others.
So sad, when i was in California I had a complete Teletype Shop with
all the parts.
Only the Lord knows when I will be able to use it again.

THAT IS NOISY AND I GUESS AS I HAVEN'T DONE THIS BEFORE AND I DON'T
HAVE ANYONE NEARBY TO ELMER I BETTER ASK TO GET GOING IN THE RIGHT
DIRECTION... I HAVE BOOKS BUT IN THE ADJUSTMENTS SECTION I DIDN'T
FIND THE INFO I WAS LOOKING FOR... IT SEEMS TO BE THE MIDDLE OF THE
THREE CLUTCHES UNDER THE STUNT BOX IN THE CENTER AREA OF THE
MACHINE... I WON'T HAVE THE SPECIAL TOOL BUT WILL TRY TO GET A THIN
WRENCH IF I NEED TO LOOSEN THE SCREWS... ONCE I GET SOME DIRECTION I
SHOULD BE OK...
THANKS
