[GreenKeys] selcal for ITTY?

Hello all,

I've been thinking about itty and with a recent acquisition of a seemingly working ST6 with a working autostart function (my current st6 never shuts the motor off). I got 'ta thinkin...

What if, in the beginning of any news story or email, some kind of SELCAL code could be inserted. Perhaps an ALLCALL for general news stories. For email, perhaps either an ALLCALL or a person's call sign. The idea would be to use some kind of software that would mute the audio out of the pc until either an allcall or selcal that matched was found. In this way, I could keep my st6 on all day and my M28 on all day (plugged into my st6) and my computer on all day listening to ITTY. My PC would be muted for all the "quick brown fox stuff" and then when a news story came over with the proper header, my pc would unmute, the ST6 would come to life and the motor would start up and print. Likewise after NNNN the pc would mute again and the motor would eventually stop.

I think this could be great fun! Especially if we use selcal like call signs. I could send an email to someone and it would print on their teletype waiting for them to retrieve it. Of course, this mute function cold be overwritten so that all the ITTY stream prints.

Whaddya think? Any other ideas?

Eugene
