[GreenKeys] saga of the spring...

Hello all,
You may (or may not) recall that on my 28 KSR I had broken a tension spring (mine is an older style printer) that caused RYRYRYR to come out CYCYCYC because the bit #3 was not causing the thingy to shift left and right correctly.
Well, thanks to Mr. Tillson, I got a spring. I put the spring in, but it seemed that RYRYRYR still came out CYCYCYC. So I looked at it a little further and concluded that there wasnt enough tension in its resting state because it was a tad too long. So I took the spring off, removed about 3 loops, bent up one remaining loop to mount with and put it back on.
Well, Voila! Son of a gun WORKS! Very reliably now!
So all looks almost perfect with the KSR. With one exception, and I wonder if this could be caused by the new spring, perhaps its still needs some adjusment. Seems now, whenever I receive FIGS (or type FIGS) I hear a pretty big clunk as it shifts into figs mode. LTRS does not have this clunk, and printing the actual figs does not make this noise. Its only upon entering figs mode when there is a bar with pulleys that shifts far to the left and the type box also shifts to the left pretty far.
Any thoughts on this one? The ASR does not make this clunk and I would have noticed it before. I can only guess the spring might either be too tight or even still too loose. Seems everything prints ok, just makes a clunk and I always worry about clunks!
Regards and thanks!
Eugene
