[GreenKeys] Got my Model 28 ASR

Is there a way to tell what type of LESU is in this unit? I can not readily get the LESU out without removing the motor, and I don't
what to do that at this time.

Thanks.

This unit has a Western Union Teletype base code of LAK3ARM and a serial number of 48842. What does the code break out to and can
you tell what year it was made from the serial number?

The typing unit has a code of LP 15 RA AR and a s/n of 355862.

At the back, behind the typing unit is, what I assume, the Electrical Service Unit (ESU). In the left corner is a raised box that
has four jacks in it labeled LJ, BJ, PJ, AND RJ. What are they used for? Also on the raised box is a jack with multiple connections
to it. What connects to it?

On the ESU there is also a line test switch, four screw adjustments labeled LP, BP, PP, AND RP, and a switch labeled MS. Any idea
what the screw adjustments are for and what the MS switch does.

Going by a copy of the RSGB book "The Teleprinter Handbook" that I have, dated 1973, the speed this unit operates at is 100WPM. This
is based on the code #159285 etched on the gear.

Thanks.

Dave Freeman, WW8S, just dropped off my 28ASR that he graciously picked up for me from the old VOA Bethany facilities down near
Cincinnati. We worked with Bill Strangfeld, W8FIX to get them. Thanks Dave and Bill.

I haven't 'fired' up the unit yet as I want to do some cleaning first. Since this is the first time in about 30-years since I've
touched one, does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed first before plugging it in? At this time I don't have a TU or loop
supply for it, but I would like to know if anyone is going to be selling a HAL or Dovetron in the near future?

Still working on my Morse Code so that I can get that General license so that I can get on HF.
