If you always plan to use separate transmitter and receiver, it won't make
any difference. I personally think those shifts are close enough, bearing
the fact in mind that you won't transceive.
20 watts is a LOT of heat to dissipate, and it will be VERY hot most of the
time. The case of the ST-6 will sink a lot of heat, so I wouldn't worry
about it too much Eugene. I hope Bill Henry will chime in and give his
opinion on both. It's always nice to get his slant on RTTY topics. You're
getting me wanting to get one of my ST-6's "fine tuned" and back on the air
with the NOS XTK-100 I bought a couple of years back. Should be a good
combo. I really enjoy the new ST-6000 I got from Bill in 2004. It copies
everything I can hear, so can't ask more. I decided to get myself a
retirement gift, hi, and had always wanted a new Hal TU.
