The restoration is complete.....I know many of you will sleep better tonite 
with this knowledge :>)

The hang up with the TD was....there is no tight tape or "no tape" switches. 
The diagram I have of the "C" terminals is rather minimal help.....I finally 
located the start switch pair and the magnet pair, simply hooked them in 
series and put the 120 VAC from the switch to the TD.  It works perfectly.

Thanks to all for the help given.  The machine looks and works like new. 
I'm sure my heirs will enjoy it too!!
