I do not care what color the panels are.  I can always paint them but  
the brown should go nicely with the tan front panel.

I don't subscribe to the Greenkeys, however I did review the  
discussion on Bill's PC.

The ST-8000 and the ST-8000A are both sold in military and commercial  
markets.

The ST-8000 is a popular item in amateur markets. It is a high  
performance FSK modem with a scope display.

The ST-8000A is a rugged hardware version with special custom made  
military connectors. There is no scope display in this unit.
No technical manual is available for the ST-8000A.
