Maybe the FCC will condense all the classes into one and
call it CB-PLUS!

Hi Tony et. al.,
For years there were/are folks on 3950 who ripped every minority group in
existance. There are other equally outlandish discussions elsewhere. This
was long before code became an issue. Code didn't keep this large group of
monkeys off the ham bands.
I think techies I know, who don't care or have time for code, will make a
major advancement in the technology levels of this declining hobby.
It may be possible that code was the cause of the decline!!
I am reminded of the doctors who lamented the reduced schedules for interns
working their way to full accreditation....I had to work those long horrible
hours so they should too....not to mention the malpractice results of
overworked, overstressed young doctors. "I had to so they should too"
doesn't really make sense to me.
It appears that the code had to go or the hobby would! In today's "Radio
World" there is serious discussion of taking "unused" frequencies and
migrating the AM band operators to these freqs. 50 MHz would be perfect,
hmmm... ain't hardly nobody there these days!!
Jack, WA2HWJ and I are exploring installing a RTTY only repeater in a high
rise in NYC. Any interest out there??
