Eugene, I mentioned how to adjust the rangefinder months ago.
To adjust, continuely type RYRYRYRY, while typing RY move
the rangefinder all the way high until it garbles. Write the num-
ber down. Now as you are typing RY turn the rangefinder down
until it garbles. Write that number down. Now subtrack the
low from the high number you have written. The answer will be
the range to set it by.
To set the Polar Relay. If it is a Western Electric 255a
(WE 255A). You can adjust it with the end of a sharp nail.
You first get a piece or your reperf. tape. Fold it once and use
that as a feeler gauge. See if the gap between both sides of the
arm are that side. If they are then make sure that are balanced
and move by touch from left to right. If not you can use the
end of the nail as a tool to turn and adjust it.
Understand it has been 35 years since I worked on TTY's. If
I made a mistake please correct me.
I am a Disabled Veteran and been trying hard to find teletype,
I'm not perticular, Model 15, 19, 26, or 28. The Mite TCG-14
or Kleinschmidt is O.K. too.
I live in Cental Alabama would hope someone close by could
help me out.
Thank you,
James Tanton
