Many of us used to use the FIGS and BLANK keys to send our calls for CW ID.
The FIGS sounded like a DOT and the BLANK sounded like a DASH.  And, it
wouldn't interfere with the TTY copy at all.

Narrow shift CW ID was the other choice...and the real cool RTTY'ers had
code wheels to send their calls!!!

But, no one would think of not sending their CW ID. Those were the days
when people actually followed the rules....!
