It was a long time ago, but I believe that I fed the tones of
the tu into the phone patch input as it was a better impedance
match. Another thing was to use the low tones. The high tones
(2125/2285) would cause the audio to roll off due to the
filtering and it would reduce the power out almost half on the
2285 tone. Before I ran the HAL ST-6000, I used a fs keyer that
was mounted on the back of the vfo and a lead went to the grid
pin and was keyed by a relay in the line current.
