The 'HAM long ago' was none other than 'Irv Hoff -w6ffc' who took the stock
M15 re-inkers and with a couple of quick snips from his tin snips was able
to modify them to fit very nicely onto a model-28 typing unit. As I recall
there was an article written by Irv in the old rag called 'RTTY' that showed
an outline of how to cut them to fit model 28's.

I still have several stashed, and use one on my 28's all the time. A nylon
ribbon lasts for years with re-inking.

The 'purple ink' that was normally used in these was made by NCR Corporation
Systemedia Div. and the type was 'K-764-F'. The part number to order it by
was '165149'. I haven't searched the internet for this, but I would imagine
it is still available.

(The re-inkers I have available are military surplus. Still sealed in
packages. I do not remember if they come with instructions but I have
instructions somewhere.

I will also announce the ink source as soon as I get home and find it.

The 28 re-inker is a modification of a M15 re-inker. It was make up
by a HAM long ago.

I sell the re-inker kits for $5.00 each plus postage. They are
available for only Model 15, 19, 14, and Kleinschmidt Page Printers.)
