Jack,

Thanks for that link.. (Copy to their addresses.)

Seeing all that stuff reminded me that today I brought with me the BSP for
a line test set I got recently - the 13A Transmission Measuring Set.

This thing measures sound level in a 600 ohm line from -45 dbm to +10 dbm.
It has a tube amplifier and such in side. The home made case I got included
a copy of the original BSP! happy happy

The BSP is dated 1944. The thing runs on 115 volts ac or dc, and has a
series filament string with common tubes 6J7, 25L6 and 25Z6 (with a series
dropping resistor.) It is supposed to be in a case that I don't have, but
it's now in a home brewed plywood case that gives modest protection against
shock and such. It has electrolytic condensers in it, so I'll pay close
attention to those as I bring it back to life.

I have a more recent version of that test set, the type 3A, a
transistorized one that runs on a battery.

It will be interesting to compare the two.
