It's heartening to learn that somebody paid $91 for a Model 28 - that
suggests it is going to a loving home.  At the other extremes, there
are the people paying $1500 for a Model 33 ASR; and there are still
too many machines going into landfills.

I'm tempted to compare this with cats and dogs.  The pure bred ones
in demand go for way too much money; people do adopt them from the
pound and love them; but still lots of them are euthanized.  The
difference is that with cats and dogs they are making more of them
all the time.  The sameness is that nobody can afford to keep all of
them.  Hmmm...are those of us with several Teletypes in the barn in
the same category as the little old ladies who share their homes with
77 cats?
