  I've asked this on another forum - but it's a logical question for here, 
mebbe:

   I am interested to know if anyone here has had any direct (or strongly 
anecdotal) experience with modifying the Johnson Valiant VFO for 'real' 
FSK - to be driven from the local loop in some interesting way. Also I 
want to do this with 'boatanchor tech' - a reactance tube or something 
similar.  I have a couple of plausible theories worked out, but: "the 
difference between Theory and Practice is much greater in practice than it 
is in theory...."

   I know there's a ton of stuff about Valiant audio, etc...  but I've not 
been able to dig up anything concrete, ie. actual circuits, schemes, etc., 
about Johnson-specific FSK mods.
