Hi, ?,
I have a manual for this unit, and also one of the things itself, though
the "model 4A" part is not familiar. I'll be glad to make you a copy..send
your address.
Although I have not gotten mine in operation yet, here are some points I
remember about it:
- Basically, it is a reactance-tuned 200 kc oscillator that is mixed with
the output from an internal crystal oscillator (three ? crystal sockets) or
from an external master oscillator (the Model 115, I think.)
- the output is in the 2.0 to 4.0 mc range
- the transmitter multiplies the output up to operating frequency
- there is provision to account for the up-multiplication in setting the
shift (that is, the actual shift is divided by the multiplication factor
you are using.)
- In choosing the crystal, or external master oscillator frequency, you
must account for the 200 kc difference and the multiplication factor.
I'll be glad to get your experience with the thing once you get yours running.
