Hello Buzz 'n' all,
Hmmm... Now you've got me wondering...
I'll have to get into my storage trailer where I keep my junk, er,
stuff, that I'm not using and check the nameplate on that
UGC-74-whatever that I have left. I would have sworn it's a UGC-74B(V3).
The "(V3)" or "V-whatever" makes a difference. In the JETDS (Joint
Electronic Type Designation System) the "V" with a unique number
designates a variation from the basic, original design that does not
warrant assignment of a completely new nomenclature. Examples are:
different features that the original design did not have; different
manufacturer/vendor (in some, but not all cases), different primary
power requirements, etc, etc. Is yours a UGC-74B(V3)?
In any event, I stand by my "caveat emptor" to Bob! Bob is in W2-land,
and the UGC-74-whatever is in Jacksonville, FL. The shipping cost would
make for some mighty expensive scrap aluminum (the humongous case).
Meanwhile, I'll check and see for sure what that POS that I have left
actually is -- as soon as this mini-hurricane blows over.
