[GreenKeys] What's on...

Hi Jack,

A few years ago I purchased from you a URA-8 - it did not have the fan and
you said that you would dig it out and send it to me. If you still have it
I would appreciate receiving it. I am finally getting around to playing
with the unit and it will blow up without the fan!

Again thanks for getting my #15 working - I still fire it up from time to
time and it works great. Enclosed is an up to date pic of the shack.

Hope you and yours have been well.

Randy,

There's hardly anything out there, anymore... Try listening
for CFH, the Canadian Forces weather station,
around 4.035, 6.498 or 10.538 MHZ. They send WX on the
half hour at 850 shift, 100wpm Baudot. I have
copied them for years and they're always
reliable. They send FAX weather maps on the
hour and often will cut off the RTTY at the
stroke of 59 minutes after the hour. The WX
is encoded for airports; you can find decoding
info if you do a search for METAR on Goggle.
They do send some plain text reports, iceberg
info and bouy reading, too. I have always
wondered who they are sending to (ships?).
I have also copied the FAX maps with the
simple AEA interface and software (now
pretty old).

Otherwise, there's some RY's and other junk,
but, like you mentioned, no more of the UPI
stuff. I wore out my first Model 26 copying
the news in the 60's.

Jack WA2HWJ
