I've seen a BREAK key in that position as well as a
toggle switch that would control the print surpress
magnet (there was another piece of plastic that would
adapt the toggle switch to the front cover's slope...the toggle
would have a long threaded shank). I'm sure there
were other functions for that switch as well as
other "button" types of uses. The parts manual shows
several of the "options".
