Hi all, thanks for all the excellent feedback for the ST-6, including the discussion on heat from the rheostat.  It would seem that 25W rated rheo should be more than adequate (120v*0.060a = 7.2W) so even though its hot, its probably easily dissapating that heat properly.

Sorry I wasnt very responsive in the last few days, but I made a silly change to my email and all my qth.net email stopped coming. Took me a few days to realize there was a problem.

Although I am no longer a youngster (38) I wonder how many my age or younger are on this list. I think all of us on this list who are interested in preserving the place in history these technologies represented are really doing great stuff. Helping a youngster like myself with all the help this list (and others like boatanchors) has given is a sure way to help promote and preserve these great technologies. thank you all.
