Hi Alex, thanks for the note. It really has been fun. Hopefully this year you and I can have a qso between maine and ny (can 100W do that?)

You mention your outgoing cq file which made me think....

Do greenkeyers generally use tape for a CQ call? I would imagine one could use a tape for this, but wouldnt it be cumbersome to keep feeding it to the beginning? Or perhaps a loop? But if a loop how do you make it stop at the end of one call?

Eugene, many thanks for your fine missive. It's excellent reading, and I especially appreciated your "justification" for RTTY in these days of inkjet printers, etc.

By the way, I rarely try to copy those derned PC-based RTTY stations that send truncated staccato CQs with no carriage returns and appropriate line feeds. My outgoing CQ file indicates that I'm a green keyer! Although I get far fewer QSOs that way, the ones I have had have been very enjoyable.
