    I know, but as long as you're picking arbitrary characters to represent 
a hole or non-hole, pick two of the same size so the result looks like the 
original tape on most displays.  A small point, but now's the time to set 
the standard.

    Who knows -- it might just make the difference between some future 
archeologist recognizing the purpose of the file or not.
