The example a few days ago included a human readable text description of
the art. I would suggest adding a description of the format (simple)
mainly so new people would not have to find an explanation. You could
even have the software add the human readable character to the right of
the hole printout. It would add a rather noticable amount to the file
size, but we're just not really talking that much data.. For example:

Space shuttle launch by Jim Walls - K6CCC. January 1985
Leftmost character is most significant bit
X = no hole in tape; O = hole in tape
XXXXX Blank
XXXXX Blank
XXXXX Blank
XXXXX Blank
XXXXX Blank
XXXXX Blank
OOOOO LTRS
OOOOO LTRS
OOOOO LTRS
OOOOO LTRS
OOOOO LTRS
OOOOO LTRS
XXXOX CR
XOXXX LF
XXXOX CR
XOXXX LF
XOXXX LF
XOXXX LF
XOXXX LF
OXOXX S
XOOXO P
OOXXX A
XOOOX C
OXXXX E
XXOXX Space
OXOXX S
XXOXO H
OOOXX U
XXXXO T
XXXXO T
XOXXO L
OXXXX E
XXOXX Space

Etc...

In this example I am using X for a "no hole" which may be backward from
what might be first thought, but using O for "hole" makes it sort of
look like the tape.
