Many of the patents in force with the sale of Teletype Corporation to 
Western Electric were key to simplistic design and reliability. 
Kleinschmidt Labs had to design around the patents when building the 
TT4.  They did a good job but the machine is known to require more 
care and not be as reliable as the Model 15s and Model 28s.  It is 
however much more reliable than a Model 242, Model 32 or a MITE.
