GreenKeyers - - -

I was gonna stay silent for a while, but Henning's idea is one that I
must comment on...

Converting a 33 to a 32 is a formidible task, one not for the experience
challenged or parts shy.

If I had an extra 32 typing unit and keyboard I'd ship it to the lucky
recipient and wish him the best of luck.

The guts of the 33 need to be changed to 5-level functions, the carriage
changed, a completely different keyboard, and even the electric service
unit wiring is different, particularly the telex call control unit.

I would prefer a beating with a rubber hose rather than do a conversion.

There were model 32/33 UNIVERSAL function bars, similar in principle to
the 28/35 153440, and they could be used to re-populate the function
box.

A 33 typewheel and carriage has some major differences from a 32, and,
though similar, the wiring pinouts for the molex connectors tieing the
typing units and keyboards to the LESU are different.

Luckily, the pedestals and chad boxes are the same, as are the covers,
platen knobs, and paper spindles.

Gads - I WOULD go so far as to send you my spare 32 stuff, as I think I
could find a couple of 32s if I ran ads in the Seattle newspapers. There
are old telex 32s out there lurking in closets and store rooms. One just
has to ferret them out.

I better wake my wife up and hand her the rubber hose...

73,

George - W7TTY
