ANOTHER THING THAT WAS NEAT ABOUT ONE OF THOSE OL' 12;S WAS THAT IT HAD
A LITTLE METAL TAB THAT WOULD KEEP THE MACHINE FROM "RUNNING OPEN" IF
THE LOOP WAS TO OPEN... ONE MACHINE HAD THAT AND ONE WOULD JUST RUN
OPEN... I TRIED TO CALL A WESTERN UNION REPAIR TECH IN L.A. TO SEE IF
HE KNEW HOW TO GET ANOTHER OF THE PIECES BUT HE PROBABLY HAD NOT EVEN
SEEN A MODEL 12 AND I AM SURE HE WAS BUSY AND DIDN'T NEED TO HEAR FROM
A NUT DURING HIS DAY AT WORK... I WAS JUST A KID THEN AND EXPECTED
ANYONE MIGHT HELP AS THEY ALL LIKED WHAT THEY DID FOR WORK... NOW I
UNDERSTAND BETTER... BUT IT WAS A NEAT LITTLE PIECE THAT WOULD CATCH
AND KEEP THE MACHINE FROM JUST RUNNING OPEN...
