Jack,

If you just want to receive RTTY, you would be better off to find a general-coverage radio (the Heath ham gear only receives the ham frequencies). You'll also find most of that vintage of equipment to be lacking in stability, making it hard to copy a signal. If you want to use your Model 33, you'll be hard pressed to find any ASCII (8 level) RTTY. If you can find one of the more sophisticated RTTY converters that output ASCII, then you could copy the more-prevalent Baudot 5 level code. Of course, the term "more prevalent" is relative since there's not as much RTTY to copy as there used to be !
