Holiday Greetings !
I am a new member of this list and am just the most
basic beginner with RTTY. I have always been
fascinated with Teletype machines and wanted to know
how they worked and if they were even still around!
The Internet has confirmed that RTTY is very much
alive and that there are others that share my
fascination in RTTY. I am just in my learning stages
of radio teletype and have been exploring such pages
as rtty.com and baudot.com and trying to let it all
sink in.
I have no equipment other than a computer and
Internet connection. I am reading "an introduction to
amateur radio teletype" by Irvin M.Hoff. I've also
been doing
a lot of Internet exploring on RTTY and found a lot
of information and have a lot of questions as well.
The Internet sometimes seems to mix different types of
amateur radio together and my lack of knowledge can
make it confusing. However I am interested and would
like to know more about RTTY and would very much
appreciate being pointed in the right direction or
would appreciate tips on how I can further explore my
interest in RTTY. However, if the board or list
doesn't mind I do have
one question that has been on my mind since I started
learning about RTTY. I can't seem to find much
information on RTTY equipment. Does anybody know of
any sites where I can view RTTY equipment that is
avaible? I'd love to have a working teletype machine
but I need to learn more about RTTY first. Thanks for
your suggestions/input and I hope to hear
from and get to know more of you.
  Sincerely,
  Brandon
