I got a CV-89 on eBay.  My first RTTY TU was a CV-89.

No loop current....hmmmm, one of the 6AQ5's wasn't lighting. For the 
unfamiliar, a 6AQ5 is a "tube" and they light up.  Took the sub chassis 
apart and found problems.  The biggest problem  was that  it looked like the 
manufacurer soldered with a hot stone!  Well, I thought that was a biggest 
problem but.....

It got worse.  All the plastic wires would shed their insulation if I 
touched them.  My world was falling apart!  So were the lowest bidder's tube 
sockets!

Geeze, all I wanted to do was relive the golden days of RTTY and fire up a 
CV-89....I guess Tom Wolfe was correct,  "You Can't Go Home Again".

Tuesday is trash day.
