You've just reminded me Roy that I have in the shed an 8mm film editor 
with 2 hand cranked winders but no reels. I'll be good to fabricate 
adaptors so that it can be used the re-wind slip after transmission.
I've learnt from Russ that the trick when winding slip in a figure of 
eight fashion is to wind it loosely on the hand so when its going 
through the TD it's not twisting every few inches or so.
