IF YOU HAVE ANY TELETYPE PARTS NEEDS YOU PROBABLY SHOULD GET AN ORDER
OFF TO FRED AT TYPETRONICS RIGHT AWAY... HE IS 92 YEARS OLD AND
MUST FIND A HOME FOR HIS TUBES, COMPONENTS AND TELETYPE PARTS... HE
IS RELUCTANT TO PACK AND SHIP ANY HEAVY ITEMS BUT WILL DO WHAT HE CAN
AT HIS AGE... I AM ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE COUNTRY TO HELP, BUT
ANOTHER THOUGHT MIGHT BE IF SOMEONE WOULD LIKE A BUNCH OF STUFF TRY
TO MAKE A DEAL WITH HIM AND GET IT PICKED UP WITH A TRUCK OR
SOMETHING... HE IS IN FT. LAURDALE, FLORIDA... HIS NUMBER IS
954-583-1340... HE IS REALLY A GREAT GUY AND HAS BEEN OF MUCH HELP
ALL OF THESE YEARS... BUT NOW HIS STOCK MUST MOVE ON...
Bob et all,
I would like to help but costs are going up so quickly. I cannot
afford a drive to Florida even though it is only a two day drive.
Gas here is skyrocketing with regular at $2.75 a gallon. Premium is
over $3.00 a gallon. I hate to imagine what the prices are in
California!!! With my cargo trailer attached to my Dodge Dakota
pickup, the best I can get is about 13 mpg. I also have to pay my
real estate taxes which will have to be taken out of our investments
so we can eat the last two weeks of next month.
I am dedicated and love this hobby, but family must come first.
By the way I recently picked up in Indiana a Model 32 TELEX and two
28ASRs that were some of the very last delivered to Western Union.
Nice clean almost new machines. Many thanks to my good friend John
Rosich for storing these beauties for several years. I also picked
up locally a Model 19 that was once in the Teletype Corporation
museum. It even came with the descriptive tag. Now to find a new
building for the museum. My wife of 37 years (today) is loosing
patience with me. Sound familiar?
The problems and challenges never seem to end.
