No offense taken at your lack of interest in ham radio traffic, but that
is about all there is these days.  It's not like 50 years ago when there
was a lot of news and unencrypted commercial and military traffic on HF.
It's all gone to satellites and undersea cables.

You might want to look at http://www.wunclub.com   and also the next time
you are at a big bookstore with a magazine section flip through a copy of
Monitoring Times or Popular Communications.  You'll find occasional
mention of various digital mode interceptions there.  Of course another
thing that has changed in 50 years is that we have so many new modulation
and encoding schemes, aside from cryptography.  I recall that Universal
Radio and maybe others sell some pretty elaborate modems/decoders that
can copy a whole bunch of these.

Even if you can find Baudot transmissions on the air these days you need
a machine with a gearshift - at least 45, 50, and 75 baud - to copy what's
out there.
