Hello my name is Russ Miller WA3FRP and I live in the States
(Pennsylvania). While I have not been active in Teletype or RTTY for a number of years, I
recently retired and now I have an opportunity to spend time with my hobbies.

I started in Teletype and RTTY while I was at the University of Pennsylvania
where I earned my degree in Electrical Engineering. That was back in the
late 1960s at a time when I was also involved in contesting via the station at
Penn (W3ABT).

After school, I worked for Western Union Telegraph Company for sixteen years
where I was responsible for Telex in the states of Delaware, New Jersey, and
Pennsylvania.

When commercial Telex was replaced by Fax in the 1980s, I moved to other
companies and finally ending my career at Siemens.

I joined this group to both share my knowledge (although it is a bit dated)
and to look for a source for parts for my two Teletype Model 28 ASR. Both
are complete with a reperf under the dome. One is geared for 45.45 baud. The
other has a three speed gear shift. My parts needs and interest is focused
on parts for the stunt box selector. Ten or fifteen years ago I could find a
few people in the States with parts. It seems that companies like
Typetronics have moved to other areas of interest.

Thanks for reading.

73,

Russ Miller
WA3FRP
