Telephone Ointment is real. I saved what little I had for many years. 
It was made for Western Electric by a medical supply firm in 
Rockford, Illinois.  WECO had a patent on the stuff.  It looked like 
Zinc Oxide ointment but absolutely nothing on earth worked better on 
burns.  The stuff took the pain out almost instantly and the burn 
would heal in about 24-36 hours.  Several of us made calls to the 
firm in Rockford but they told us that they could not legally 
re-produce the ointment.  It was part of our larger first aid kits. 
I thought putting in that little message in the auction would let 
anyone from the Bell System know that a real telephone man was 
running the auction.  Same goes for the Bell System medal.

If I don't sell the solder maybe someone will contact me regarding 
the ointment.
