A point of clarification:

The UGC-129 V1 uses a standard ribbon like the Model
15 or 28 types. You can get them at Staples. The manufacturer
is Dataproducts and the ribbon number is R#3300. 

The UGC129 V3 is a dot-matrix printer that uses a cartridge.
The "V3" is the one that has the flourescent display above the
keyboard.
