Hi Dave,
Thanks for the report. I hope when I add the reflector element to my
vertical dipole it will help in the Pacific Northwest. Also, I think
propagation will favor the Pacific Northwest later in the day. We
should be able to make it. MUF halfway between us runs about 17 or 18
Mhz at that time of day. I will check on the path length but I believe
it should favor low angle radiation.
The key may be to haave antennas with low angle radiation patterns on
both ends. (Either a vertical or a high dipole high yaggi.

I printed maybe 5%-10% of your 5PM (Pacific time) transmission - the
Dovetron usually does pretty well with weak sigs but just too puny for
print here in the Pacific Northwest.
Could barely hear the second station in QSO with you right after your
transmission - he didn't print at all.
