HI Larry,
Thanks for the reports. Yes, I agree, that cross country is going to be
an afternoon and early evening phenomena. I think any time after 5:00
PM CDT (3 PM PDT) will work. I am also anxious to see if the addition
of a parasitic element to my vertical will help some as well.
Thanks for the report and the support.
Best regards -- Roy, K4EEG

Roy,
Hearing you today but your pretty weak. Got the ST-6 hooked back up to
the 28KSR to see what it looked like. Pretty garbled. QSB hits mostly.
I've been monitoring since 12 noon. Hopefully later this pm sigs will
come up and copy will be better. Mornings are not X-country times for
this band.
I asked a question the other day about the W1AW transmissions in Ascii
and have had only one (1) response so i wonder who out in radio land is
listening to them at all. no one on this list appears to be as i've not
heard any comments concerning it and they transmitt daily i know for
sure at around 3 or 3:15 PM PST and again at either 6 or 6:15 PM mst. I
print both of their bulletin transmissions to check propagation. They
should have continental coverage as they do it on all bands at the same
time i believe. It would be a good way for people to verify their
machines are working and at the same time play with the receivers,
learing how to get the most out of them in the rtty mode.
May miss your 3 pm (6 pm for you?) broadcast as i'll be watching the
W1AW broadcast. Need to figure out the setting for the ASCII
transmission immediately following.
Thanks for all the work your putting into this.
Larry
