Hi Larry,
Thanks for the signal report. It looks like 30 meters may do the job
for us. I did a fair amount of testing over the weekend . 80 meters
was a complete bust even though I was running 1500 watts to a high
dipole. 20 meters did well in the afternoon and the evening up until
aobut 8:00PM CDT. I was able to talk to the west coast and Midwest and
the north east just fine. I got good signal reports from most folks
after about 3:00 PM.
I probably will try 20 meters again tomorrow. There was an
international RTTY contest on 20 this weekend and it really clobbered up
the band. Copy was very rough much of the time due to stations that
just pilled on top of one another trying to work stations in the
contest. But we should do better under less crowded conditions during
the week. I will put something on Green keys and probably start
transmitting on 20 sometime tomorrow afternoon.
Thanks for the reports and the help. I have had a number of QSO's on
both the 30 meter and the 20 meter frequencies so this is a definite go
project. I now have a WRU on 30 meters that is triggered by 12 (ltrs)
5 (spaces) K4EEGZW for the moment. I need to change this back to the
normal scheme that we have agreed upon but just used that one for
testing purposes.
Thanks for you note and for the support.

QRN building up so took some hits. Otherwise, with a good 30 meter
antenna we could definately made a QSO today.
I've got 3 pictures i took while he was transmitting. Want to see them?
they are pics of the Hamscope and signal display. Drop me a note and
i'll send them to you individually.
