OK. I haven't put much effort in to listening today. Tried 30M at 1330
CDT (1430 EDT, 1830Z) and didn't hear anything. If you're only
transmitting 30M on the hour now, that could explain it. WWV at 10MHz is
barely audible here, so I was concerned about band conditions.
Heard a lot of short transmission activity on 20M. That must be the
contest.
Hearing some activity on 30M at about 1415 CDT ( 1515 EDT, 1915Z ). Right
now, 1432 CDT, there is a signal on 30M. Have you switched back to the
half hour for 30M? ...Maybe it's a QSO. Shorter, multiple transmissions.
30M has been quite reliable from daytime into the evening hours. It is
getting so it is not interesting to hear if you're there. If you're
transmitting I can hear you. Although late night hours might not work so
well. Now I have to work on being able to monitor the channel. That will
take a little while.
It might be worth trying 40M at some point, at least for night time.

Gary
